In my entire high school life, I have experienced many stressful day or week but for me, this week was the worst of all. This exigent school week of mine started last Tuesday, January 23, 2007. We took the NCAE and I was happy that we were dismissed earlier than the usual. I planned to research on my project for Health and go home directly but miserably, our teacher said that we would practice for our prom and we have to sty behind. Perhaps, we can go out of the campus but we can’t escape. The rehearsal was really bragging and most of the students were not listening and not paying attention to the teacher’s instructions.
Morning the following day, January 24, 2007(Wednesday), was the deadline for our Health project. I researched on the topic the other day and I saved it in the diskette and asked my classmate if he could print out the information for me for it was too long. My classmate was quite generous so he greed to do the printing. When I was to print my reaction and recommendation for the said project, the computer I was using can’t connect to Yahoo Briefcase so I had to ask my friend to open the site and save the thing I’ve written so that I could easily copy it in my computer. After setting up everything, I decided to print the page. When I arrive in our classroom, my classmate said that he was not able to do what I favored him to so I went back to Jakoona and told the women that I was to print something. Desperately, their printer hangs up and it took her long time to fix it but still, it didn’t produce any printout. I got back to UP and discovered that I was exactly ten minutes late and the fact that our teacher rescheduled the deadline.
Friday, January 26, 2007, came and I wasn’t feeling very well. I didn’t sleep the night before because I had to make my assignment in our council. Aside from this, my father left earlier which means that I have to take jeepney to school bringing all those twenty four pieces of one-eight cardboards. Student like me who is sleepless and carrying those heavy things would really be stressed out. After I arrived, I have to studied S and T Digest because we would have a test. I still have to rewrite my Calculus and Music project and file up my Health project.
Honestly, this week was not good to me at all. I think bad luck struck unto me that a little move I make results to a disaster. Everyone is in panic for we have to pass the required assignments all at the same time. Even though that week was full of hardships, I’m still glad that I managed it as calmly as possible. I hope and pray that the following school weeks won’t be that tiresome anymore. That each of us could comply with the given or asked project.

A destruction
Prom, for me, is the most awaited part of a student’s high school life. As what our teachers said, it is where we could interact and find friendship between the third year and fourth year students. When I was still in third year, I was very shy especially in the announcing of the pairing. It was mainly because I look up to the fourth years as my elder brothers and sisters and I respect them a lot. I see to it that I don’t give my partner a headache when we were to practice in stage. We were also to do our best in our presentations because the prom was likely a tribute to the seniors. And now that I’m in fourth year, I hope that the juniors would feel the same respect as we felt before. I also hope that they would take things seriously.
While we were in our classroom, one of our classmates announced that the pairing would be held in the afternoon. Some didn’t say anything but most of us disclaimed because we still have a make-up class and it would take us a long time to go home. The pairing took place in the covered court because it was raining that time. The first who was paired were our fourth year boys with the third year girls. After which, it was already the girl’s turn. My partner was Adrianne Paul Entese. I knew him a little because he was one of the most misbehaved students among the third years. At first, I said that I hate him to be my partner but later, I decided that as an elder sister to him, I should be the one to guide him because having a prom is not new to me anymore. We started practicing the whole event. My partner, as what I see, is not that serious. There was a time when we were called and he was not attentive enough so the teacher called us more than once. He also doesn’t know how to put his partner’s hand in the proper position. Adrianne took every practice as a joke. Last Friday, we practiced on our dance for the prom and I really had a hard time practicing with him. I don’t know but he doesn’t follow instructions and always make fun of me. I really feel bad but I just hold my temper because it would be shameful if I scold him in front of all those people. At last, it was the turn of the second pair and I was able to rest. I felt worst because I was not able to sleep the night before for I have to do some work and he was acting like that. I cried because I don’t understand my feelings anymore. I was very sleepy, stressed out, and he was adding to my problems.
During the prom, I hope he would behave and act as manly as possible. I also hope that my last prom won’t be the worst I’ll have.

NCAE 2007
After the tiresome week we have with our tests, we were able to rest for three days (that is Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Some of our classmates were curious if we were to take the NCAE for we were the only school who did not take the exam on the said date. Some people say that it is important to take the exam because if we won’t pass, we won’t be able to pursue our course. Some also say that it was only to determine what kind of course that would be appropriate for us and it is not a big deal. I really thought that we are exempted from it but unfortunately, I and my classmates are wrong. We took the NCAE last January 23. When we arrived in our classroom, there was a list on the wall which indicates on where we would stay. Students with family names starting from A to G fall on the first bracket and stays in Gonzales while those whose family names starting from H to T fall on the second one and stays in Tan. It was a bit funny because four of our classmates belong to the third bracket and stays in the Hometech room. It was only the four of them there. I do not know if they transferred in Tan because I directly proceeded to Gonzales. Because my family name started with A, I fall on the first bracket and stayed in Gonzales. Before the test, our proctor which was Mr. Jover Nuñez, allowed us to buy food in the canteen for us to consume while taking the test. The examination started at about 8:00 a.m. and was estimated to end at 2:45 p.m.
Our proctor distributed the answer sheets and guided us on how and where to put our answers. After which, we were given the test booklets and instructed to answer the first part of the test only. The NCAE was composed of mostly seven to eight parts. There was a Math ability test, Verbal test, Non- Verbal test, Clerical test and many more. Some of the parts were long, about sixty items and some were short, only ten items. There were parts which were very easy like the Clerical test and we were able to finish earlier than the given time. Other parts require comprehension like the Verbal test because we were to read a selection and we were asked some questions. Some requires analyzing the problems like the Non- Verbal test because we were to point out what is the next in the sequence of pictures.
Whether the NCAE was helpful or not, at least we were assured that we had took the exam and if ever it is needed in college, we won’t have any problems in the processing or filling of documents. Even though it added to our stress and pressure, it was done as smoothly as possible. Aside from this, we would also know on what would be the appropriate course that we could take.
